The Shën Kolli Church is located by the sea, approximately 3 kilometers from the village of Dhërmi.
The church honors Shën Nikollës, also known as Nikolla of Bari, who lived during the "Roman Empire" period. The early Christian bishop was of Greek descent, hailing from the city of Myra in Asia Minor. He is still one of the most adored saints among Christians in both the East and the West.
Every Divine Liturgy mentions the saint, and both the Orthodox and Roman Catholic Churches celebrate him on December 6.
