Lake Dega, Fierzë

Lake Dega, nestled near Fierzë village Elbasan, is a stunning natural gem at approximately 160 meters above sea level. Its elongated shape, spanning 1600 meters in length and up to 300 meters in width, covers an area of 37.4 hectares, making it a unique feature in the Dumre group of lakes.

Formed through karst processes in gypsum, Lake Dega boasts a diverse ecosystem teeming with flora and fauna. Its cool water temperature, reaching 7.8 - 8 °C in winter, supports various aquatic species, with depths up to 17.9 meters and suitable oxygen levels for aquatic life.
