Lepusha, a charming village nestled in the Great Highlands of Albania's Kelmend municipality, boasts remarkable natural beauty. Named after the abundant yellow-flowered herbaceous plant, Lepushtra (Caltha palustris), it stands as a jewel of the Albanian Alps, showcasing the splendor of Kelmendi's landscape.

Perched at over 1260 meters altitude, Lepusha comprises four clusters of houses across two watersheds: Vermoshi and Cemi. Its landscape is awe-inspiring, featuring towering mountains, dense forests, and a striking contrast between the alpine scenery of the Shenik block in Bjeshke e Namuna and the surrounding peaks.

With a rich history dating back to the early 20th century, Lepusha saw its first settlers arrive from Vukli and Nikçi. By the Second World War, it boasted 18 economies, and by 1998, its population had grown to 495. Livestock farming, agriculture—particularly potato cultivation—and artisanal woodworking form the backbone of the local economy.

The village is equipped with a trading unit and an eight-year school, while Lëpuša Pass serves as a historic gathering place for the Kelmendas and hosts the annual Saint Prendes celebration, known as "Logu bjeshkeve."

Renowned for mountain tourism, Lepusha beckons adventurers with opportunities for mountaineering, skiing, wildlife observation, and immersing in the rich local flora and fauna. As part of the Albanian Alps' mountainous expanse, Lepusha promises an authentic experience for all who venture there.
