Narta Lagoon is located in the southeastern part of Vlore Bay. It was formed by the continuous accumulation of solid streams of the Vjosa River.

It is surrounded by the hills of Zvernec and to the south is Narta. The water salinity is high, ranging from 28 per mil in winter to 75 per mil in summer. The total area of ​​the lagoon is about 42 km², of which 14 km² mainly in the north is used as the Skrofotina salt pan. This lagoon is connected to the Adriatic Sea by two short channels called Big Dajlan and Small Dajlan.

The lagoons include sand dunes developed near the mouth of the Vjosa River, Mediterranean pine forests (pine polo), ancient riverbeds, small coastal marshes, saltmarshes, undeveloped saltlands and farmlands in the east. Contains the natural environment. regional. 

Narta Lagoon is one of the largest and most important lagoons in Albania. In addition to its rare natural beauty, the lagoon is also economically important due to its abundance of fish. The lagoon ranges in depth from 0.80m to 1.50m and is characterized by the following fish species: Mullet, eel, sea bass, cod, etc. Also, the most common waterfowl in the valley are: Flamingos, wild ducks and more. 

The area is well worth a visit as it is in close proximity to various historical attractions such as: Zvernec Island, Monastery of Mary, 12th-14th century AD, archaeological area of ​​Narta village with early settlement of Aurona.
