Ruins of the Old Tragjas Village, Vlora

The Ruins of the Old Tragjas Village, Vlora is situated on top of several hills that oversee the Dukat plain, approximately 25 km away from Vlora city. In October 1980, a heritage landmark, categorized as "Architecture," was officially recognized for its cultural significance. The design style of this architecture is of a traditional nature and serves as a lasting representation of the region's cultural heritage. Historians assert that Gjergj Arianiti, who was the father of Donika Kastriot, constructed this settlement during the transition from the 14th to the 15th century.

The hillside village is positioned advantageously for both aesthetic and practical purposes. There are roughly three hundred houses situated in close proximity that are renowned for their intricate design, practicality, suitable integration with the landscape, dynamic proportions, and impressive grandeur. They symbolize both the architectural style of the nation and the skill of the common folk who constructed them.

This town faced three devastating fires and was completely razed during the course of World War II. However, today it stands as an open museum, serving as a mute witness to historical events of the past. Despite being uninhabited for six decades, the village still exhibits distinct features within its boundaries. These include a prominent main road running through the entire length of the village and the noticeable remnants of previous residences evident in the form of ruins.
