Allajbegi Mosque, Dibër

The Allajbegi Mosque, situated in Burim within the Dibra district, serves as a focal point of cultural heritage in northeastern Albania. Constructed in 1578, it embodies a unique architectural synthesis, blending various elements and construction techniques uncommon in the region. Noteworthy for its combination of a dome, minaret, and porch, the mosque's cubic shape and spherical dome lend it an exceptional aesthetic appeal.

What sets the Allajbegi Mosque apart is its utilization of the claussonage technique, a rare construction method in northeastern Albania, adding to its significance as a representative of architectural ingenuity. Despite the collapse of its portico due to seismic activity, the mosque retains its historical integrity.

Architectural features such as multiple windows on the western, southern, and eastern walls ensure sufficient illumination within the prayer hall, enhancing its ambiance and functionality.
