Gjon Mili Museum is located in the center of the city of Korça. About 240 photographs of the world-renowned artist of Albanian origin, Gjon Mili, are exhibited in the Museum. He is one of the greatest photographers of the XX century.

Gjon Mili was born in Korça in 1904 and emigrated with his family when he was very young. They first settled in Romania, where he finished high school and then continued his studies in the USA as a lighting engineer, at the well-known MIT University. He turned his lifelong passion, such as photography and lighting, into art.

In the museum of Korça, this unique art journey of Mili is best presented, through the photographs exhibited in the rooms of the former Romanian house, also from Rome to Hollywood, with photographs of artists, sportsmen or well-known social figures. Thanks to the interactive rooms, visitors will be able to take as a souvenir from the museum a photo taken with the same technique with which Mili made his iconic photos.

The collaboration with Life magazine began in 1939 and lasted until the end of his life in 1984. He gained international fame due to his distinctive style, the visible movement in the photos, as well as the famous people he photographed, where it is worth mentioning series of photos taken by the painter Pablo Picasso. John Mill made history as the first photographer to use electronic flash and stroboscopic light. This museum is one of the symbolic buildings of the city and remains one of the most sought-after institutions by local and foreign visitors.
