Kardhiqi Castle is located inside the valley of the same name, about 4 km from Gjirokastra. The castle is a cultural heritage monument, of the "Architecture" type, approved in January 1963. Its typology is the castle, built around the XVII century.
An interesting fact about Kardhiqi Castle is that: this castle has been an important strategic center for many governments and conquerors in its history.
It has the shape of a pentagon, with an area of 0.2 ha. Inside it you can see the walls, with a width of 1.30 m, built with small unworked stones and placed irregularly.
The Kardhiqi Castle offers a wonderful view of the entire area, with nature rich in a variety of characteristic plants. It is also suitable for nature expeditions and a reference point for all sports, hiking and excursion enthusiasts.
