Mbjeshova Castle

Mbjeshova Castle (also known as "Xhaxhaj Castle") is located near the village of Mjeshova, on the northern side of Mount Shpirag. The castle's slope, on the southern side, appears to be practically parallel to Shpirag mountain.

On the western side, there are gentler sides. The late antique castle of Mbjeshova is one of the region's best-preserved monuments. The surrounding area of "Mbjeshova Castle" ranges from 1.5 to 2 hectares.

The castle has the shape of a dissimilar trapezoid. On the eastern side, there are three towers and a doorway. The two edges are semi-circular, while the middle is square. The other tower, positioned on the west side, has a quadrangular design but is less in size than the quadrangular tower on the eastern wing.

The castle also has three further entrances: one on the north side and two on the south side.The castle, which dates from the 4th to 5th century AD, is a Type I of the enclosing wall of towers and gateways considered typical of the late antique era.
