Dalmaca Castle is located in the village of the same name, in Dalmacia. The medieval settlement of Koman has been declared a Cultural Monument since 1963 and was recently declared an Archaeological Zone in September 2015.

The ruins known as Old Dalmaca were studied for the first time by the French consul in Shkodër, Degrand in 1899. The first excavations were done by the well-known albanologist J.Han.

The site lies on a territory that has an area of 2 ha. It consists of the middle and lower level with a height of 570 m above sea level. The site lies almost parallel in the air with the necropolis of the settlement.

• The middle level of the settlement includes the intensively excavated area to date. It represents a dense area of documented construction and a substantial series of walls and structures. As the first phase of the middle level of the settlement is the end of the ancient period. This settlement occupies an area of 105 m² and with walls at a height of 60 cm to 1.20 m.

• The lower level of the residence occupies an area of 230 m². The walls are 1.42 m high, while their thickness is 60 cm. These walls are well plastered and regularly jointed. This settlement level is thought to be later or the last, dating between the 8th and 12th centuries.
