Blaca Castle is located west of the village of the same name, in Pogradec. The castle rises on the tops of two hills that are separated from each other only by a narrow valley. These hills are part of a long range of hills, running east-west, which create a natural border between the Korça plain and the Pogradec field.

The castle belongs to the Late Bronze Age, around 1500 - 1200 BC. It belongs to the Late Bronze Age, around 1500 - 1200 BC. During this period, the castle spread over an area of 15 ha and, together with the two acropolises, it was protected by a special enclosure. Also the slopes of the hills were protected from the external siege. The walls were built of rough stones and were dry-jointed to each other. There were more traces of habitation from the research done in the southern acropolis.

The first searches for traces of habitation in this castle were carried out at the end of the 60s and a subsequent research expedition, at the beginning of the 70s, where the characteristics of the castle were better defined.
