Reivews 0

Fterrë village is located in the south-west of Kurvelesh, near Old Borsh and has an surface of about 37 km2. It lies in two valleys: the valley of Ftterra in the west and the valley of Galishti in the east. It has a mountainous and hilly territory with a height reaching up to 400 m above sea level.

The Borsh-Fterrë-Kuç (Vlorë) highway with a length of about 23 km passes through the valley of Fterra. Its two valleys have numerous karst sources, such as: the source of Ixori, Ngurreza, Gjezhdanica, Langadha and that of Vidheza in Gallish. Fterra stands out for its year-round greenery, its Mediterranean climate and its caves, such as those of Kazhan, Soroi, Gjoleka and others.

According to some documents, the village had 12 chimneys in 1431, which means that it was inhabited by 12 large families.

The legends say that four brothers came to the Fterra gorge for the first time to hunt: Gjoni, Lleshi, Çoku and Xhama, who later founded four main neighborhoods: Gjofterraj, Llesh (Bregu i Lleshe), Çokaj and Xhamaj. Later, the sub-districts of Baliaj, Komaj, Rukaj, Dukagjinaj were born.

The village is considered the smallest among the other villages in the area.
