The Muradies Mosque is located in the city of Vlora, on the Vlora-Skelë road axis, in the area near Flag Square. The facility is isolated and clearly visible from all sides (regardless of the high greenery surrounding the facility).
The building was built in 1542, in the 16th century. It is an accomplished work of our architecture of this century. The Muradies mosque is built with rows of stones and bricks, reminiscent of the constructions of this time, by architect Sinan in Istanbul. It stands out for good construction of the walls, for the regular work of frames, windows and the entrance portal. There used to be a portico, of which today only the traces on the northern wall and the plinth with the floor are preserved. Another distinctive sign of this mosque is the twelve-faced drum.
The mosque is covered with a dome. It consists of the cubic hall which is the prayer hall as well as the minaret. The hall is lit by three rows of windows on each side. In the southern part of the hall is the mihrab. The transition to the twelve-sided drum is made directly without any narrowing, forming small triangular roofs in the corners. The walls of the mosque are built of stones and bricks placed in an orderly manner, two rows of carved stones alternating with two rows of bricks.
The entrance to the mosque is from the north side, the minaret is located in the northwest corner. The base of the minaret is a polygon built with square stones. The masonry of the minaret is connected through the insertion of stones to the walls of the mosque. The mosque today performs the same function for which it was built, an object of Muslim worship, a place of prayer.
