Reivews 0

Gjin Aleksit Mosque or Gjinaleks Mosque is a monument of cultural heritage in Rusan of Delvina. This cultural monument is of the "Architecture" type, approved in 1963. Its typology is a hall-type mosque with a dome, built in the 16th century. It was built by the Grand Vizier of the Ottoman Empire in 1592.

This historic mosque is the only one in the world that has the name of a Christian. The mosque was famous for its special acoustics, which was created by several holes left in the wall, the function of which has only recently been understood. It is thought that the mosque was built on the ruins of a Byzantine monastery. In its courtyard there is also a church and a mosque.

It is a gem of architecture but also of our cultural heritage in terms of its style, cultural layers, wall paintings and history. A true testimony of the cultural and religious coexistence of Albanians.
