Tyrbja e Abaz Aliut

Tyrbja e Abaz Aliut is an important monument of cultural heritage in Berat District, Albania. This monument is of the "tyrbje" type, approved on "15.05.2008", and has an important role as a pilgrimage destination and a place of faith in the area of Çuka,Tomorr.

This place is located far from Kulmak village, about 2 hours on foot or 40 minutes by car. Tyrbja is located at the appropriate height of 2417 meters above sea level, offering a wonderful view of the nature and surroundings of Tomori.

Every end of August from the 20th to the 25th, a ritual and a grand celebration is organized in this place by the believers of the Bektashi sect, which is the most important celebration of the year. Also, during these days of celebration, it is visited by many people of different faiths.

The pilgrimage has a steady increase in participation, reaching high numbers, even setting a record of 250,000 participants over five days in the last year. This event is announced not only as a moment of faith, but also as an opportunity for cultural union and the interweaving of religious traditions. The tomb of Abaz Ali has turned this area into an important cultural heritage destination in Albania.
