Teqe of Koshtan, Koshtan

Teqe of Koshtan is a cultural monument in the first category, located in the village of Koshtan, Memaliaj, Albania. This church dates from the beginning of the 20th century and is an important cultural and historical object in the area of ​​Tepelena.

The building is organized on two floors and has a special architectural appearance. At the main entrance of Teqe there is a bust of the national Hero, Gjergj Kastriot Skënderbeu, deliberately making it a place that honors his outstanding figure. While in the courtyard in front of the main entrance there is the bust of Baba Muharrem, giving a calm and wonderful feeling to all who enter.

The balcony of Teqe is a special element of the building, which was added later, in 2009. This balcony is two stories tall and is covered with a dome above. The external stairs leading to the second floor are located on the outside of the balcony.

The walls of Teqe are built with worked stones, placed in horizontal rows and connected with mud and lime mortar. This traditional building style and use of authentic materials reflect the building techniques and practices of centuries past in this region.

Teqe of Koshtan is not only an important religious and cultural symbol, but also a testimony of the history and traditions of this area of ​​Albania. Through its impressive structure and rich history, it continues to remain an important destination for visitors and a source of pride for the local community.
