Ancient Temple of Metoc, Saranda

The Ancient Temple is located on one of the hills of Metoc, in Gjashta`s neck, Saranda. The temple tracks are built with large blocks of stone.

The thickness of the wall is equal to the thickness of the stone block 0.90 m, with a height of up to 1.30 m. The temple has a quadrilateral plan measuring 10x10 m. On the surface of the hill, fragments of various vessels such as vases and bottoms of Hellenistic and Roman amphorae are found. Ugolini is thought to have seen two temples of the classical period, but only one has been identified. There are also traces of walls around the temple, which are thought to be related to it.
