Sopot Mosque, Borsh

Borsh Mosque in Sopot Castle, Albania. Located inside the Sopot Castle, the castle dates back to the 4th-3rd century BC. They are located 500m above sea level. In the medieval period, the mosque was built in the Sopot Castle, this period when Ali Pasha Tepelena took control of the area and fortified the castle to have it as a military garrison for the coast. The Borshi Castle Mosque was built by Haxhi Bendo, the supporter of Ali Pasha Tepelena in these parts. The Borshi Mosque is a cultural monument of the first category, it is the only object of Islamic worship in the villages of the coast.
