The Top-Hane Well is a special monument of cultural heritage in the Durrës region, of the "Architecture" type. This monument is located near "Aleksandër Goga" street, behind the Prosecutor's Office building, 200 meters from the city center and is an important part of the history and architecture of the city of Durrës.

The medieval well dates back to the 16th century and has a rich and varied history. In the medieval period, this well served as a water source for the central districts of Durrës, supplying the population with water. This function continued until 1970.

The monument stands out for its architectural features, including the columns and parts of the well. After being a water source, a restoration process by the Monuments Workshop followed in 2005. During this restoration process, the columns and other parts of the well were restored in the space of 25 square meters, restoring the appearance and historical importance of this the monument.

The name "Tophane" comes from the period when the medieval well served as a workshop for the production of gunpowder. Its history tells of a complicated fortune and a varied use over the centuries. In addition to its cultural role, this monument represents an overview of the events and developments of the Middle Ages in the city of Durrës.
