Constructed in the 19th century, the Dervish Residences form a significant architectural complex situated in the Teqeja e Helvetive southern region within Berat. These structures served as venues for religious rituals and accommodated the dervishes. The complex, stretching longitudinally from east to west, comprises various components:

  • Stone-walled rooms with wooden roofs: Positioned on the upper level of the mansions, these rooms served as living quarters for the dervishes. The stone walls provided stability and security, while the wooden roofs ensured a comfortable and cool environment for the residents.

  • Gazebo with wooden poles but no roof: Encircling the entire length of the mansions, this feature offers an open space shielded from the sun and rain, facilitating social interactions among the residents.
