Parish Church of Shen Alfons, Kamëz

After the communist period, Dom Oreste Valle SDB purchased a cultural house and apartments to establish a Catholic presence in Kamëz. Originally named the Church of St. Paul, it commenced pastoral services under Dom Corrado Van Kerschaver. Under the leadership of Dom Gjergj Meta, with support from many, the church expanded to accommodate the growing Catholic community.

Initially known as St. John Maria Vianney Parish, it later adopted the name Shen Alfons due to its growth. Today, it stands as one of Albania's largest parishes, serving as a vital hub for worship and community life in Kamëz. Its history highlights the dedication of believers and clergy in establishing and preserving this important religious institution.
