The Stone of the City is an important and symbolic point in the city of Përmet, located 250 meters above sea level. This geological formation is considered the symbol of the city's identity and has many scientific, didactic, ecological and cultural values.

The shape of the City Stone is unique, stretching up to 15 meters in length, up to 15 meters in width and up to 25 meters in height. For geologists, this stone is an extraordinary natural work and is thought to have been detached from Mali i Dëmbel after an earthquake.

On this particular stone are preserved the ruins of an ancient building, including a fortification that, according to archaeologists, belongs to the 4th-6th centuries. The fortification is a testimony of the early history of the city. Around the rock there is also a tract that is translated into the ancient period, with the technique used containing similarities with the fortifications of the 3rd century BC in the Drino valley.

The fortification is considered a signaling point for a military garrison, which controlled the Vjosa valley. The placement of this fortification on the rock, together with its height, made it important for the security of the area. The walls of this fortification are isodomic, with limestone blocks in a quadrangular shape. This geological and architectural structure represents an extraordinary asset for Permet and is a destination that attracts visitors with multiple interests.
