The villages of Kaçë and Naraç are located in the northeastern part of the Zadrima plain, where the Drin river bed exits from the mountainous part to the plain. At the beginning of the 20th century, the beds of the Gjadër river and the Glina stream passed through, which have been mentioned since the Middle Ages together with the church in question.
• The church "Saint Mary of Ascension to Heaven" is mentioned for the first time: in the relation of the Archbishop of Tivari, Marin Bici in 1610.
• In another report from 1632, Bishop of Sapa Gjergj Bardhi writes that: Saint Mary's Church had vineyards and its caretakers. Also in 1638, the Archbishop of Tivar writes that: this parish church has three villages, Ranëza, Hajmel and Naraç.
• The last restoration of the Church dates back to around 1880 and this fact is mentioned by the relation of Bishop Giulio Marsili. During the atheist period, the church was turned into an agricultural warehouse and the bell tower, altar and various church installations on the facades were removed. Despite all the changes, the building preserved its full form, mainly from the outside where the stone walls were preserved. Today, this church building has returned to the Diocese of Sapa.
