Mother Albania Monument

The Mother Albania monument is located at the entrance to the National Martyrs' Cemetery, on a hill above Tirana. The concrete monument, inaugurated in 1971, represents Albania as a mother who preserves the eternal sleep of those who gave their lives for her. This monument is 12 m high, holds a laurel wreath and a star raised in the right hand. The monument was created by the sculptors Kristaq Rama, Muntaz Dhrami and Shaban Hadëri. It stands on a pedestal with a height of 3 m, where the words "Eternal glory to the martyrs of the Motherland" are engraved.
