The Church of Shën Stefan

The Church of Shën Stefan is located near the beach of Dhërmi.  It is a chapel church rebuilt in the 18th-19th century on the ruins of an old  church that belonged to the 11th-12th century, traces of which are still preserved.  In this church are preserved the values ​​of the ecclesiastical art of our country. There are exposed the new wall paintings made in the XVIII century, also painted in the old church in the XI-XII centuries.
 In an inscription, found in its iconostasis, it was written: "It was painted by the hand of Mihal and Konstantin from the eparchy of the saint of Vella".
 The church is a monument of cultural heritage under protection.
