Melçani Mosque, Korça

The Melçani Mosque is located on top of the hill, in the western area at the entrance to the city of Korça. The mosque dates back to the middle of the 17th century, around 1640, and its founder was Hysen Ali Dede.

This mosque is one of the five oldest mosques in Albania and has played a very important role in party issues.

The Mosque of Melçanit is represented with its clergy in: The League of Prizren where it has made a valuable contribution.

Also in the movement for national liberation, where it was called by the patriots of that time as: "Home of Albanianism" and "Monument of the National Movement".

Around 2014, His Grace Haxhi Baba Sadik Ibro turned it into a magnificent Teqe, a pride for the entire province of Korça. The Mosque of Melçanit is not only a place where religious rites are performed, but it has also become a tourist attraction for many local and foreign tourists.
