Vaqarr village lies 6 km southwest of Tirana, bordered by Kashar to the north, Ndroq to the west, Farka to the east, and Peza and Baldushku to the south. The area has been inhabited since antiquity, with archaeological discoveries proving this.
Prush: A plaque with a commemorative inscription from the 70s testifies to Vaqar as an early settlement.
Lalm: A limestone tombstone with an epitaph for a freed slave.
Allgjat: A limestone stele from the 1st or 2nd century, epitaph for a young slave, preserved in the Archaeological Museum.
The territory is mainly plain and hilly with an average height of 150 m above sea level. Forests cover a considerable area, especially pine forests in the villages of Lalm, Allgjatë, Prushaj and Gropë. The inhabitants are mainly engaged in agriculture and animal husbandry, as well as handicrafts such as wood carving and embroidery. Fodder, cereals and vegetables are grown, while animal husbandry includes cattle breeding and milk production.
In Vaqarr there are many restaurants along the national road that offer traditional cuisine with organic products. The village is a perfect destination to spend pleasant time in nature, enjoying authentic Albanian specialties such as fargesa, earthen casserole, meat with nard, and pies with wild cabbage or spinach.
