The Shebenik-Jablanica National Park is located in the northeast of Librazhd and extends over an area of about 34,000 ha. It is covered by forests, water sources and two large rivers with a length of 22 km. In the north, the Qarrishtë river joins the Rrapun river, and in the south, the Bushtricë river joins the Shkumbin river. The park has also 14 glacial lakes at an altitude of over 1900 m above sea level.
Its territory includes 6 municipalities: Steblevë, Lunik, Qendër, Hotolisht, Qukës, Rrajcë, and 12 villages: Borovë, Sterblevë, Llangë, Zgosht, Letem, Kosharisht, Qarrisht, Gizavesht, Dorëz, Pleshta, Rrajcë Skënderbej and Rrajcë Bardhaj. It has a typical mediterranean climate with average temperatures from 7-10 degrees Celsius and annual rainfall reaches up to 1,800 mm.
The park has different and rare species of plants and animals. Its flora includes beech, spruce, pine, oak, willow and European silver fir. In terms of fauna, there are rare species such as the Balkan raccoon and other animals such as the brown bear, gray wolf, wild goat, wild boar, roe deer, wild turkey, eagle, otter, wild cat and the mountain trout that can be found in its rivers, etc. Also, in the park there are a variety of medicinal plants such as chiroculli, sanzi, krenza, flower balsamic, sturgeon, mountain waji, etc.
Tourists are concentrated in areas with early traditions such as the village of Llange with three-story houses built with perennial stone walls, the Koshorishti Church built in a cave in the 2nd century BC, Skanderbeg's staircase, the bear stone, the taxing plane and many others. of this type. There are many festivals that take place in this area, such as the "Dorez" festival, the Shëngjergji festival in Steblevë, the Rrajca festival, the Lunik festival, the Qarrishta festival and many other festivals that are organized in almost every village. As for sports enthusiasts, mountaineering can be done on the peaks of Shebenik or Kallkan. Characteristic of the area are handicrafts, embroidery, woodwork, etc. The park is spectacular; it offers a variety of panoramas. It is one of the most special destinations in the territory of Albania.
