The National Park in Lurë-Dejë lies in northeastern Albania with an area of 202.42 kilometers including Kunora e Luna, the former Zalle-Gjocaj National Park and Malin e Dejë. The park was declared an International Park in 1966 to protect different ecosystems and biodiversity. Kunora of Luna is also called Eden by the Albanians. With a distance of 137 kilometers from Tirana, this park is a natural wonder, one of the most excellent destinations of Albanian tourism.

The territory of the Lura park is very rugged and intertwined with a network of mountain streams, the most popular of which are Seta, Uraka, Malla e Lura. Its elevation ranges from 1,500 to 2,300 m (4,921ft- 7,546ft).

The International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) lists the park as Category II, and is described as an area of special importance for birds and plants. The Lure-Deja Mountain National Park is very dense in vegetation. It consists mainly of deciduous conifers, especially around lake shores. The most common tree is European beech along with silver fir, black pine, red pine and Bosnian pine. As an endangered plant, the Balkan pine is found only in this peninsula. The southern part of the park has an extraordinary meadow with colorful flowers and conifers and is called Mara Field.

In terms of fauna, the most important animals that inhabit the park include the European brown bear, the Eurasian raccoon, the Eurasian wolf, the European pine marten, roe deer and mammals such as the red squirrel and other species.

In this area we find twelve glacial lakes. The lakes get their names based on their characteristics, such as: the Great Lake, the Pine Lake, the Black Lake, the Flower Lake, etc. In winter these lakes are covered by ice. A hygrophilous vegetation grows on the lake, such as the water lily with white flowers which in summer occupy their entire surface, giving them a rare beauty

"Mali Lure-Deja" National Park is frequented every day of the year by many foreign and local visitors, there tourists find different guesthouses, family hotels, restaurants and everything they need.

This park is a real gem of Albanian nature that is worth visiting in every season of the year.
