Cape of Gjuheza, Vlora

Reivews 0

Cape Gjuhëza is located at the northwest end of Karaburun, the westernmost point of Albania. The cape is 1.1 km (0.68 mi) into the sea in the shape of a tongue, hence its name.

The heights of the cape gradually descend towards the water, while the southern shores form 30 to 40 m high steep cliffs that drop directly into the Ionian Sea. The cape lacks vegetation, while limestone cliffs, heavily eroded by karst, are spread throughout the area.

In the highest part of this massif there are three peaks, Kora 826 m, Dafina 732 m and Ilqe 687 m above sea level. The western part is rocky and vertically fragmented, with caves, cracks, bays and small beaches. Also here are the small beach of Dafina, the coast of Bitri and the cave of Panaia. It remains to be visited as one of the attractive and very beautiful destinations, part of Karaburun.
