The Zoological Park is located near the Botanical Garden, at the end of the dam of the artificial lake of Tirana, called Lasgush Poradeci promenade. The Zoological Park was opened in 1971. It is the only public Zoological Park in Albania, built in the years 1960-1966, according to a project drawn up by foreign specialists. The total area of the park is 5.97 ha, of which 4.35 ha are green areas, 1.3 ha are water areas consisting of small pools of water, 1.8 ha are covered by roads and small squares and 0.14 ha are construction areas of intended for animals and birds.

•In the beginning, the central gallery was built, where animals such as: raccoons, wolves, foxes, marmots, skunks, skunks, squirrels, badgers, roe deer, snakes, etc., are exhibited.
•Birds such as eagles, pelicans, cuckoos, buzzards, hawks, owls, storks, swallows, swifts, pheasants, ravens, etc. are exhibited.

•Then water basins and small lakes were built in the Zoo where birds such as swans, wild ducks were exhibited and red fish and carp were cultivated.

Also, around 1973, the Zoo was enriched with the bird pavilion, where birds such as canaries, doves, terns, parrots, peacocks and pheasants were raised for exhibition and trade. The Zoological Park remains a perfect place for children's entertainment, with playgrounds, recreational areas dominated by green spaces that can be used for picnics, but also with recreational areas for visitors. These environments are visited by pupils and students offering them opportunities to explore the diverse world of animals.
