Sylejman Pashë Bargjini was an Albanian nobleman of the Ottoman Empire and the founder of the city of Tirana. He was born in the village of Bargjin but lived in the village of Mullet in Tirana. Sulejman Pasha returned to his native lands together with a farm of the Sultan after making a brilliant career as a general in the wars of the Ottoman Empire in 1614. The first buildings he made laying the foundations of the city were: a mosque, an oven and a hammam. Founders and protectors of the city of Tirana, the Bargjinas were simultaneously its feudal family or its legitimate chimney from 1614 until the end of the 19th century, when the chimney of the Bargjinas was defeated by the chimney of Kruja, the Toptans.
