The Historical Museum holds great value as a cultural landmark in Vlora. This architectural monument was granted approval in November 2006. The location of the museum lies within the heart of the city with a distinctive building that formerly housed local government agencies and community organizations.

There is a vast collection of unique items on display and safeguarded, showcasing various historical eras spanning from ancient times up to the current era. The museum offers a display of archaeological artifacts hailing from a range of notable ancient cities located in the specified area, including Orik, Amantia, Ploce, Olimpia (Mavrovë), and Kionina (Kaninë). There are also authentic medieval items within its vicinity. Included in the collection are authentic city documents, including weapons and artifacts used by legendary warriors of the past. A distinctive section within the Historical Museum showcases the noteworthy role played by the inhabitants of Vlora district in the proclamation of independence. The park features 2 distinct pavilions that serve as reminders of both the War of Vlora in 1920 and the June 1924 Democratic Movement.

The museum now houses the original coffin of Avni Rustemi, a patriot whose body was discovered by accident during the reconstruction of the Vlorë-Skelë boulevard in the mid-1980s. Subsequently, his remains were laid to rest in a location almost identical to the original one. The initial casket was securely stored within the Historical Museum and appropriately encased in the country's flag to prevent any external exposure. Furthermore, it is an uncommon item composed of both glass and lead.
