The writer I. Kadare lived in this apartment in the years 1974 - 1989. The building, or as it was called at that time, the "palace with cubes" was a part of the architecture different for the time and therefore was put at the center of the accusations and the communist regime. This building was called modernist and cubist while its designer was imprisoned for 10 years.
It is a place where one can get an idea of Kadare's work. Here we encounter the work of the writer, we know its infinite consequences in time, in literature and in its readers. Inside the apartment there are original documents such as objects, books, furniture. Knowledge of the writer's work is also acquired, including a reading corner.
The main role of the museum dedicated to Kadare is education. It aims to attract a comprehensive audience and present to local and foreign visitors the values of Kadare's works and the extraordinary work he has achieved during his life. The Studio Kadare house will continue to convey to the visitors the literary thought, showing how the writer's work changes in his meeting with the readers in different times and locations.
