Former Kinostudio "Shqipëria e Re"

Former Kinostudio "Shqiperia e Re" is a neoclassical complex, designed by a group of Soviet architects. The complex was built by Albanian specialists in the years 1950-1952. It used to be the building of the Albanian National Film Studio, known as the "Shqipëria e Re" Kinostudio, as well as the National Film Archives. Today, in this building are located:
Albanian National Center of Cinematography, Academy of Film and Multimedia "Marubi", Ministry of Culture, Institute of Cultural Monuments. The first feature film Skënderbeu produced by Kinostudio "Shqipëria e Re" in 1953 was a co-production with the then Soviet Union. The film, in which Albanian actors also play, has won the international award at the Cannes Film Festival in 1954. Kinostudio "Shqipëria e Re" has produced and distributed many Albanian films. The period of the 1970s - 1980s was particularly intense when 13-14 films were produced per year.
