Farka is located 7 km southeast of the capital of Tirana, along the Tirana-Elbasan national road. Farka is bordered to the east by Dajti, to the south by Petrela and to the west by Vaqarri. Farka is evidenced as a settlement since the end of the Iron Age. Between the two streams near Farka passed the main road named "Vram", which was a branch of the Egnatia road. The population of this region belonged to the Illyrians and later became part of the Taulant federation. Its inhabitants were masters of iron work, blacksmiths from where the name of the village is derived. In 1969, the Military Department of Helicopters was established in Farka
The main economic sources of the area are: the production of grapes, trees, olives and cattle breeding. There is also a pottery workshop in Farka, which has a tradition of making clay vessels. Even today, the names of the places inherited from that time have remained, such as: Lama e Tabakke for royal leather, Lazi's garlic cave for pottery, etc. In Farka, 90% of the houses are newly built. Farka remains to be visited for the reservoirs, for the hill relief that create an attractive panorama, increasing the interest of local and foreign tourists for swimming, cycling, etc.
