Cemetery of German Soldiers

The cemetery of German soldiers is located in the Great Lake Park, in a corner of the Memorial Ensemble, Tirana. This cemetery commemorates the fallen German soldiers during the Second World War in Albania. In the center of the cemetery with a size of 150 m2, a granite monument is erected, around which there was a stone column where the names of German soldiers who died in Albania were engraved. About 60 German soldiers of the Second World War are buried here. Of the 2,400 German soldiers who died or were lost in Albania during World War II, about 1,800 are known by name. The land where the German soldiers' cemeteries are located has been made available free of charge by the Albanian government. The cemetery is located next to those of British soldiers and the monument erected in honor of several prominent Albanian figures.
