The Association of Writers and Artists of Albania is a non-profit organization created by a group of Albanian writers and artists. The League of Writers was established on October 7, 1945, and the League of Artists in 1949.

In 1957, these two organizations merged into a single institution: the League of Writers and Artists of Albania. The Association of Writers and Artists of Albania is an organization of creators, based in Tirana, that includes writers, composers, artists, creators of visual arts and critics of literary and artistic values. Today LSHA has about 1300 members. Its governing bodies are: the National Congress, the Presidency, the President and the Administrative Council.
