Messi Bridge on the Kir River, Shkodër

Mesi Bridge is located 8 km from the city of Shkodra over the river Kir. The bridge is a cultural monument of great value and a symbol of ancient civilization. It served to connect Drishti with Shkodra and was built by Mehmet Pashë Bushati, in 1768. From the construction technique, Mesi Bridge has had two construction phases.

• In the first phase, the central arch was built and 3 others next to it, two on the left and one on the right.

•While in the second phase of construction, Cyrus covered the bridge and as a result small arches were built as a help at each end.

The bridge underwent reconstruction in May 2010, making it suitable for pedestrians. It is 108 m long and 3.40 m wide. Hewn stones were used for its construction, while the track was made with stone slabs.Being a monument of great architectural and technical value, this bridge is an object that attracts many visitors. The value of this bridge is increased by the picturesque terrain near it with rocks and clear water.
