Lakes of Lukova

Reivews 0

Lukova lakes are located in the south-western part of Pogradec, on the border with Gramshi. The two fabulous lakes of Lukova have an area of about 10 ha and are of glacial origin. The largest lake is 1851 m above sea level, while the smaller one is 1795 m above sea level. They are surrounded by a crown of mixed beech and spruce forests, up to 22 m high and with a trunk diameter of 30 cm.

Mokra e Poshtme, a beautiful village at the foot of the mountains, is a very beautiful tourist spot with diverse nature in the area near the lakes. In Pogradec, in addition to traditional lake tourism, mountain tourism is also frequented. Mokra has several very interesting destinations for nature enthusiasts, hiking and sports enthusiasts, etc.

Following the path to the lakes of Lukova along the way, there are streams coming down from the mountain which are springs with cold water. There are also several other areas where you can stop, such as: Golik Bridge, the old traces of the "Egnatia" road from the XVIII century, or even the Illyrian Tombs of Selce, which are unique in their kind and belong to the IV century. -III BC. Lukova's stunningly beautiful lakes remain a very attractive and relaxing tourist destination, for these hot summer days and not only.
