The lakes of Kacnia are located on top of a ridge, compressed in the plateau of Mount Balgjaj, half of which is in the territory of Dibra and the western slope in Mat.

The lakes of Kacni are located on the eastern slope of the Balgjaj mountain or known as Mali Allaman on the border with Mat, south-west of the village of Kacni, from where they derive their name from the district of Dibra, at an altitude of over 1700 m .

They are located in several large complex glacier cirques. It consists of glacial lakes. They are average 50-100 m and width 20-35 m.

The lakes of Kacnia have crystal clear and cold water. During the winter they freeze on the surface.
