Vlora Bay

Reivews 0

Vlora Bay begins at Cape Triport and ends at Cape Gjuheza, with the Southern Islands in between. The bay is 19 km long and 16 km wide. To the south is the Dukat Field, which is clearly delimited by the Pashaliman Lagoon by mountains, the sea, and the sea to the west.

The area of Myzeqe, as well as the Vlora river valley (Shushica), both are quite suitable for agriculture. While the flat part has poor soils and high salinity with the hills being covered with a strong mist layer, which creates favorable conditions for livestock and fruit growing.

Both the southern and northern regions were subjected to progressive marshification processes during the Middle Ages. Conditions for sea navigation and anchoring of ships in Vlore Bay were very favorable. There are few sandbars, and only the northwest is open, with high mountains surrounding the land providing a natural barrier from the wind.

Since ancient times, Vlore Bay has been the center of many important roads, connecting it with the center of Albania, other provinces and even the interior of the Balkans.
