Voskopoja Village

The village of Voskopoja is situated approximately 21 kilometers away from Korca city. Nestled amidst the pine trees, Voskopoja presents a unique amalgamation of stunning landscapes, a bountiful legacy of past events and customs, and excellent cuisine and hospitality. The weather conditions prevailing in this village include chilly winters, moderate summers, and snowfall throughout a significant portion of the winter. Here, there are numerous ski slopes that occur naturally.

With a rich cultural history dating back to 1330, this center has been embellished with more than 24 churches, the renowned Academy, and the Ottoman Empire's second printing press alongside numerous significant organizations throughout the years, although many of them were destroyed due to natural disasters, wars, or theft.

Over time, Voskopoja has progressed while still maintaining the rich customs, history and traditions that were established in the distant past. The twenty-four churches served as significant hubs for the advancement of liturgical education, propagation of the Albanian language, conservation of cultural traditions and heritage.

Voskopoja is renowned for its skillful production of crafts derived from indigenous techniques and natural materials, notably in carpentry, woolen apparel weaving, and other precious creations.
