Kiri Village, Shkodër

The village of Kiri is located in the administrative unit Pult, Shkodër municipality. The village is on the left side of the river with the same name, in the upper part of the river. This is where the village got its name from. In ancient times, the place was located in Marknonaj, about 1 hour south of the parish seat. The place is called Gjytet Kiri and, according to Armao, the ancient church of Shna Prende was located there, existing since before 1636. In the same places, an ancient abbey of Saint Mihill was located.

In 1933 Armao describes it as: the seat of a parish of the diocese of Pult and the ensign or bajraktar of Kiri, tribe of Pult. The data also show that until 1933, Kiri had 600 inhabitants.
