Guri i Zi village is located in the municipality of Shkodra. This village has taken its name from a massive rock formation with gigantic dimensions, situated in the center of the village. This rock is very interesting because its composition is unique and differs from the formations of the surrounding mountains, which have limestone compositions.

This magmatic rock has a height of 42 meters above sea level. It has a roughly circular shape with a diameter of around 120 meters, an average width of 50-60 meters, and a height ranging from 8-10 meters. It is believed to be a volcanic base rock, and the mystery remains regarding how it arrived there.

The area has a community with strong traditions, skilled workers, and art enthusiasts. Guri i Zi extends along the foothills of Mount Sheldi, offering a beautiful view. Near the village of Guri i Zi, the Gajtan Cave was discovered by speleologists Myftar and Gëzim Uruçi in 1950. This rock was declared a natural monument in 2008. Additionally, the fact that this rock has a very high specific weight compared to common types of rocks is quite interesting. This natural object remains to be visited as a tourist attraction with geomorphological and geological values. Guri i Zi is a perfect destination for tourists interested in an authentic experience and to enjoy the beauty of the deep mountainous nature.
