Rrogozhina is located approximately 15 km from Kavaja and 80 km from Tirana. In Rrogozhina lies the most important river Shkumbini, approximately 2 km from the city center. The total area is 223.50 km² and with a population of 40,684. Historically, it is known as an inhabited center since the 2nd century AD. There was significant development at the time of the use of the Egnatia road, in the Roman periods, of the European crusades towards the East in the times of the Byzantine civilization. In the Middle Ages, rugs were called "Rrogozzeza" because in the fields by the river Shkumbin, papyrus, zhuka and reeds were grown in abundance, with which mats were made for layers, baskets and canisters were made. It is also the only place in Albania that has an entire neighborhood named Miqësia, where the Chams expelled from Greece in 1944 settled.
Rrogozhina had two of the most famous enterprises in all of Albania, such as the Oil-Soap Factory and the Cotton Stripping Factory. The raw material was provided by the collection of olive production in the localities of Rrogozhina, Peqin, Kavaja, Lushnja and Berat. Next to them was the workshop for the processing of medicinal plants and essential oils, it was mentioned for juniper brandy, which was used as a drink but also had curative values. It received great development and vitality especially with the construction of the Durrës-Peqin railway in 1947.
Rrogozhina, as it is a connecting bridge for all the cities of Albania, has many development opportunities for economic and social life. The geographical position, the location between the fertile fields of Cërrik, the valleys of Papër, Bishqem, the fields of Peqin, Myzeqe and Kavaja, have favored its economic, industrial and commercial development.
In Rrogozhina, Saturday brings more movement, as the shopping day that takes place once a week. In the market of Rrogozhina, farmers come who bring to sell the live thing, agricultural and livestock products from several villages such as those of Kavaja, Peza, Peqin, Kodra and Fusha e Lushnja, etc. Rrogozhina is a clean and welcoming city, it also remains to be visited in addition to the bazaar on the weekend for the two well-known spots such as Bishti i Zhuri and Dy Çezmat.
