Reivews 0

The village of Bogova is located to the right of the Osum River and Tomorri Mountain in Berat, at an altitude of 265 m above sea level.  Bogova lies exactly at the exit of the Berat-Poliçan national road, leaving the ruins of the former Poliçan Military Complex on the right and entering the magnificent gorges of the mountains.  The name of the village originates from the Slavic word for "Gods", Bogovë.
Before, Bogova was a neighborhood of Novaj.  The village began to be populated around the 1950s, while its greatest development took place after the 90s, when it was established as the center of the municipality.  In this tourist village, there is also the largest hydropower plant in the district of Berat, which is supplied with water from the spring of Bogova.
We also have the Bogova waterfall, otherwise they call it the "Heavenly Waterfall of the Gods".  It is a wonderful yet untouched place to get in touch with nature, elevated 20 m above its pool with aquamarine waters.  Located on the left bank of the Osum valley, this gem of the Albanian landscape is hidden behind lush dense forests.  Surrounded by rich shades of greenery, the attraction of this waterfall lies precisely in its isolation from the rest of the world.
Most of the ecosystem appears to be in good condition and ecological conditions appear to be stable.  The greenness and beauty of the forests, finally Osumi and the Bogova Reserve, has been declared a natural monument with an area of 350 ha.
Its surface is mainly covered by: bushes, heather, heather, juniper, etc.  Also grows: sage, natural mushrooms, salep, trance, oregano, mountain tea, etc.  The animal world is rich, with a variety of wild mammals: wild boar, hare, fox.  Many wild birds are also observed.
This tourist village is and remains one of the pearls of mountain tourism in the country, with about 10 thousand tourists a year.  Called otherwise as the gateway to tourism in Skrapar, every end of August it welcomes and conveys believers of the Bektashi cult from all over the country and all over Albania. They climb the holy mountain, the mountain of the gods of the Pelasgian Dodona.  Tomori is called the royal mountain, it is also called father Tomori.  "There is no other mountain in the world that can be called father, so it is considered as the royal mountain that unites all Albanians".
The surrounding villages also offer wonderful panoramas of vineyards and farms.  After your visit to the waterfall, you can have lunch at one of these villages on the way back.
The food is always delicious and fresh in these parts.  Cold water, lamb meat on a skewer, accompanied by the famous brandy of Skrapar, while the hospitality and generosity of these people has made this place absorb many tourists, local and foreign.  Bogova offers you the beauty, the mystery and the wonder, the dream and the harshness of life among the brilliant colors of nature, where the free winds blow!
