Shen Premte Church, Permet

Shen Premte Church in Përmet is a significant cultural heritage site in Albania, renowned for its distinctive architecture and historical significance.

Constructed in 1776 by master craftsman Ilia Kristo, it is one of Përmet's oldest churches, featuring basilica-style architecture with impressive dimensions: 22 meters long, 16 meters wide, and 8 meters high. The interior boasts paintings by Tërpo Zografi from 1808, enhancing its artistic and historical value.

The church comprises several distinct sections, including a raised narthex with windows allowing light into the nave. The nave features three aisles with majestic circular arches and domes, supported by columns and pilasters. The altar area, separated by a wooden iconostasis crafted by master Dhimitri from Konica, includes a semi-circular apse adorned with artistic elements.

Outside, the open porch serves as a space for social gatherings and celebrations, featuring arcades on stone columns and a cylindrical vault.
