Bença River is one of the most special points of the natural landscape in Tepelena in the south of Albania. This river, which stretches for about 15 kilometers, has a beautiful flow and is characterized by deep gorges and clear waters. It releases its waters into the great river Vjosa, creating an amazing view of nature.
Bênça has its source in the Karstel landscape of Upper Kurveles, an area characterized by karst formations and rich natural beauty. The river's waters reveal a series of gorges and geological formations that make it an attractive destination for tourists and natural scientists.
Near the village of Bënça, the river passes through a short gorge, which in the past was built with an aqueduct from the time of Ali Pasha Tepelena, an important figure in the history of Albania. This historical construction shows early human interventions in the river area.
Beyond the village of Bênça, the paved road follows the waters of the river, climbing further into the mountainous area of Kurveles. On this beautiful and natural route, travelers can enjoy amazing natural views and explore the beauties of this area.
This protected space offers a quiet and unusual home for local flora and fauna, as well as for all those who wish to enjoy the natural beauty of Albania.
