02 Jun 2023

Finiqi is situated at a distance of 20 km from Saranda. Finiqi shares borders with Delvina in the north, Dropulli in the east, Greece in the south, and Saranda in the west. With a population of 35,518 individuals, the overall land coverage spans across 44,100 hectares. Looking at Finiqi through an ethnographic or anthropogeographical lens, it can be divided into three groups: the Vurgu, which are comprised of villages on the plains, the Rëza, which are mountain villages, and the hilly area in between known as the Sirakat line. With its abundance of historical landmarks, the land bears witness to our deep-rooted ties to the past, which are vividly resurrected through these cherished symbols.
